Tom.E.Sumpton served with both the 15th & 15/17th service battalions of the West Yorkshire Regiment. Edgewater, MD 21037. He served on active service with the 2nd battalion of the Rifle Brigade in both the Sudan & South Africa along with the occupation of Crete in 1898 but was discharged as being no longer physically fit for military service in 1902 age 29. He is buried in Wandsworth (Earlsfield) Cemetery & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Mr & Mrs Hull of 80 Shelbourne road, Park Lane, Tottenham, London
